In 2022, a Pixel Gun fan and hobby game developer, RobDEV, unofficially revitalized the game as a fan project, with his version of the game being the first successful attempt at reviving Pixel Gun World to the public. Pixel Gun World was announced on May 26, 2015, by RiliSoft on their Facebook Page and on the unofficial Pixel Gun 3D Forums.
